EHS Blanks Mount Carmel 7-0 in Soccer Action

Effingham High School had its scoring shoes on as the Hearts blanked Mount Carmel 7-0 in soccer competition Wednesday.

Michael Carie was on fire, connecting on the first three goals for the Hearts. Carie put in his first goal at the 34:58 mark in the first half then came back with an assist fromm Phil Knight with 15:47 left. Carie then hit his third goal on an assist from Jason Pike with 36:13 in the second half.

Knight had an unassisted goal with 29:32. Knight then assisted Austin Robertson with 24:27 left. Tyler Katz connected on an unassisted goal with nine minutes remaining. Dalton Steele put in the final goal with an assist by Synne Christiansen.

Frank Kasdorf had four saves and Jared Minor one save for the Hearts. EHS had 32 shots, 24 on goal.

The Hearts improve to 6-4-1 on the season.
