The Hearts, seeded fifth, fell to third-seeded Mascoutah, 2-0.
The Hearts broke the all-time wins record at EHS this season. They did not lose a home match and finished the season with an 18-3 record.
The regional continues Friday as No. 3 Freeburg travels to No. 1 Waterloo for a 6 p.m. contest and Saturday as No. 2 Troy Triad takes on Mascoutah at Olney at 10 a.m.
The winners will then advance to the championship match Wednesday at Troy Triad at 5 p.m.
