MAHOMET -- Mahnomet-Seymour edged Effingham 1-0 in high school soccer action Wednesday.

"We lost a tough battle against Mahomet-Seymour," said EHS Coach Logan Arney. "We showed our strength and controlled most of the game but jut couldn't quite find the back of the net. I'm happy with how we looked. Huge improvement year after year, so we'll continue to show the team we are.

"We have an Apollo Conference matchup Thursday at Charleston."

Peter Rosen had two saves for the Hearts who drop to 15-2 on the season.

EHS continues on with a busy week. After playing at Olney Monday and at Mahomet-Seymour Wednesday, the Hearts are back in action today at Charleston and will finish out the week Saturday hosting Taylorville Saturday.
