T-town Wins Soccer Match On Senior Night

Teutopolis High School beat Richland County, Olney 3-2 Tuesday as the Wooden Shoes celebrated Senior Night in soccer competition.

Two seniors scored for the Shoes, Cooper Tegeler and Tyler Petersen. Petersen was assisted by Joey Probst. Gavin Buening scored on an assist by Isaac McWhorter.

The Wooden Shoes have a sparkling record at 13-2-2 on the season.

The junior varsity fell 2-1 to Richland County. The lone goal of the match for the Shoes was scored by Chris Habing. The junior varsity squad is now 6-5-2.

Both squads are back in action for their last regular season matches Friday at Fisher. The junior varsity match will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity will follow.

The Wooden Shoes will be competing in the Class 1A Altamont Regional. The Shoes drew the No. 2 seed and will face the winner of the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond vs. Effingham St. Anthony match on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m.
