The Hearts are now a perfect 14-0.
It was a challenging and physical game," said EHS Coach Logan Arney. "I am extremely proud of this team and how we continue to find ways to get wins. This is an extremely rare accomplishment, especially in soccer which requires the entire team to work together and games are often decided by thin margins. We are truly making history this year!
"Tonight’s game was a great game that showed our character and teamwork. We went down 1-0 and fought hard to came back to win.
"Maicol Sefton ended with our two goals, with one coming from a penalty kick. Peter Rosen had a great game in goal tending with five saves.
"The junior varsity played a great game tonight that ended 1-1. Rece Kinney scored a penalty kick goal. Brady Wilson had four saves on the night."
Effingham is right back in action today, traveling to Apollo Conference opponent Mount Zion.
