EHS, Teutopolis Blank Opponents In Soccer

ALTAMONT -- Effingham High School blanked Altamont by a 6-0 count in soccer competition Saturday.

Maicol Sefton and Camilo Aden both ended the game with hat tricks for the Hearts, each scoring three times. Sebastian Simoni and Sefton ended with two assists each. Peter Rosen had one save.

The Hearts' record moved to a perfect 7-0 on the season with four of the games ending in a shutout.

"It was a great win today," said EHS Coach Logan Arney. "Our junior varsity team played a great game but couldn't quite find the back of the net, falling 1-0 to Altamont. Brady Wilson had two saves."

The Hearts are back in action Tuesday and Thursday this week against Newton and Charleston.

 

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis handed Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond an 8-0 loss in action Saturday.

"There were lots of goal today," said Wooden Shoes Coach Aaron Wendt. "And lots of assists to the goals scored."

Goals were by Gavin Buening, Landyn Buening, Cooper Tegeler, Simon Lee, Joey Probst, Payne Davidson and Paul Huber.

Garnering assists were Tyler Petersen, G. Buening and L. Buening with two each and Tucker Dhom with one.

The Shoes move to 6-1 on the season and will be back on their home pitch against Pana today with a 4:30 p.m. varsity only start.
