U.S. Men's Soccer Team Knocked Out Of Olympics, Monday Schedule

The U.S. fell to Morocco by a 4-0 count in Friday action. The squad hung tough through the first half but once again went down to defeat with a bad second half.

The Atlas Lions tallied two goals within a seven minute period in the second half as the U.S. made mistakes.

In the 63rd, Abde Ezzalzouli went up the sideline then turned into the middle and went by the United States' Walker Zimmerman. He then hit Ilias Akhomach who put it in the goal.

Then it was Achraf Hakimi's turn when he won a header then went straight towards the goal before going along the inside edge to put it in the het.

The other two goals for the winners came off U.S. penalities. Soufiane Rahimi tallied in the 28th minute and Mehdi Maouhoub put it in after Miles Robinson got whistled for a handball in the area.

But looking on the bright side, the American squad made the Olympics for the first simce since 2008. 

Patrick Schulte, the U.S. goalie, has several relatives who live in the area including great-aunt Pat Brumleve of Effingham. Brumleve's sister Mary Jo is his grandmother, Kay Jansen, a great-aunt from Effingham, Don Brumleve a great-uncle and Judy Wittenberg, a great-aunt from Strasburg.
