Hearts, Bulldogs Both Win Thursday

Effingham defeated Charleston 4-1 Thursday, extending the Hearts' record to 13-5-1, which ties the all-time EHS wins record at 13.
Hearts Coah Logan Arney said, "Tonight's game had a lot of positive signs for the team with good teamwork and spacing shown. Maicol Sefton had a hat trick, scoring three goals. Camilo Aden had two assists. They had an own goal off a great pass across the six-yard box from Sam Spicer. Xander Marler had three saves."
Arney said, "I'm proud of the team for hitting the school record! It's been a full team effort to get to this point. We look forward to our next game on Saturday against Taylorville. We only have two more games this regular season before our regionals start."

St. Anthony picked up a 2-1 win over Vandalia on Senior Night.
Bulldogs Coach Martin Reyes said, "We thank our seniors Pierce Verdeyen, Zack Hurren, Carson Fallert, Marvin Rodriguez, and Evan Mossman."
Reyes said, "In the first half, Maddox Wiedman, a junior, scored our first goal. Vandalia scored a goal in the second half and senior Carson Fallert scored our second and winning goal."
St. Anthony will play Robinson at Regionals at home next Tuesday.
