Wooden Shoes Beat Indians; Eagles Win In Soccer

ALTAMONT -- Teutopolis High School traveled to Altamont for a Labor Day soccer meet and came out a winner in both junior varsity and varsity play.

The Wooden Shoes were 3-1 winners in varsity action. Goals were scored by Josh Habing, Gavin Tegeler and Ethan Thoele. Gavin Runde and Tegeler had an assist each.

The varsity squad moves to 4-1 on the season and is back in action Thursday traveling to Mattoon.

In junior varsity play, the Wooden Shoes won 1-0 over Altamont. Paul Huber scored the lone goal of the contest.

 

At Newton

Newton handled visiting Charleston a 5-2 loss in Saturday soccer competition.

Nick Brody tallied three goals for the Eagles while Luke Weber and Greyson Dow had one each.

Assists were from Weber, Michael Neal and Dow.

Newton improves to 4-1 on the season.
