EHS, Altamont Drops Soccer Losses

TAYLORVILLE -- Effingham High School traveled to Taylorville for a soccer contest Saturday and fell to the homestanders, 4-2.

"We fought hard against Taylorville and are starting to play together as a team," said EHS Coach Logan Arney. "We will keep working on our communication and teamwork as we have three upcoming games next week, starting with Teutopolis at our place Monday, at Mahomet-Seymour Tuesday and then we finish our week with a home game Thursday against Lincoln."

The Hearts' two goals came from freshman Maicol Sefton with assists by senior Marc Asejo. Xander Marler had four saves.

 

At Altamont

Warrensburg-Latham blanked Altamont, 5-0 in soccer action Friday.

Warrensburg-Latham tallied two goals in the first half and the other three in the second half.
