TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis blanked Altamont 4-0 in high school soccer action Tuesday.

Ethan Thoele scored two goals for the Wooden Shoes while Ethan Mette and Evan Waldhoff had a goal each. The first of Thoele's two goals was assisted by Josh Habing.

T-town is now 7-0-1 on the season and won't return to action until Saturday against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hamond with an 11 a.m. start.

At Mattoon

Mattoon hosted Effingham and handed the Hearts a 3-1 loss Tuesday.

The lone goal for the Hearts was by freshman Maicol Sefton and assisted by freshman Camilo Aden. Xander Marler, a junior, had 11 saves.

"We played well and improved from our last 3-0 defeat from Mattoon," said EHS Coach Logan Arney. "We play Mount Vernon today at EHS and host Mount Zion Thursday. We will look to add more wins to our record this week."
