The San Jose Earthquakes’ Chris Wondolowski, Major League Soccer’s all-time leading scorer, announced his retirement Sunday after his team’s 1-0 win over FC Dallas in their regular-season finale.

The 38-year-old scored the game’s only goal to extend his MLS record to 171 goals over his 18-year career.
