ROBINSON -- Effingham St. Anthony handed Robinson a 7-1 loss in its final regular season match before regionals Tuesday.

"We started a little slow in the first half, but after 25 minutes, we scored five goals in 10 minutes," said St. Anthony Coach Martin Reyes.

"Adrian Bustamonte came off the bench with 30 minutes left and scored his first goal five minutes later on a pass from Roberto Campos. One minute later, Adrian scored his second goal on a pass from Will Fearday. Another minute passed and Roberto scored his first goal on a pass from Adam Brandenburger. Then another minute passed and the same combination resulted in our fourth goal.

"Five minutes later, Adrian got a hat trick by scoring hsi third goal on a pass from Adam and five minutes after that, Eric Deters scored his first goal of the season on a pass from Roberto. Ten minutes into the second half, Will Fearday scored our seventh goal on a pass from Roberto.

"Adrian had three goals, Roberto two goals and three assists, Adam three assists, Will one goal and an assist and Eric a goal. Player of the match was Roberto."

Robinson scored its only goal with 11 seconds left in the second half.

The Bulldogs will be back in action Friday playing host to Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond in the Class 1A Altamont Regional. In the other match, Robinson will be at Altamont. Both are 4 p.m. contests. The winners advance to Tuesday competition.
