Effingham St. Anthony High School celebrated Senior Night Saturday hosting Harrisburg but fell to the visitors, 9-0.

Coach Martin Reyes talked about his seniors:

"Adam Brandenburger is one of our captains and has played four years, scoring many of our goals or controlling the midfield.

"Joshua Blanchette is our other captain and this is his second year leading the defense and playing soccer. He scored his first goal earlier in our season.

"Kevin Canales has been playing soccer all four years and has played midfield and forward. Earlier this season, he scored his best goal when he tallied directly from the corner kick.

"George Scheidemantel has played soccer all four years. He has developed into a great mid-wing and can be found defending and making a run up the right side of the field ready to cross the ball.

"Eric Deters has played soccer the last two years. He has learned to be a reliable defender next to Josh.

"Ivan Dong has played soccer three years. He started as our goalkeeper and his second year moved to the left wing position. This year he steppeud p to defend the left side of our field and supported the attack.

"Cathy Jansen has started many of our games this year, even though this is her first year playing soccer. He is a great physical defender and midfielder.

"Andrei Deaconescu is playing in his first soccer season coming off the bench as a forward. On his first subsitition, he scored a goal from a corner.

"They all have been great additions to our program and will be missed next year."
