Teutopolis Defeats St. Anthony, Charleston Downs Effingham

Teutopolis defeated St. Anthony 4-1 in action Thursday.

For Teutopolis, Evan Waldhoff scored two goals, while Gavin Tegeler and Ethan Thoele scored a goal apiece. 

The win improves Teutopolis' record to 8-2-1 on the season. 

St. Anthony scored its lone goal in the second half when George Scheidemantel crossed the ball to Roberto Campos for a shot on goal. 

St. Anthony won the JV match 1-0.

Charleston defeated Effingham 4-2 in action Thursday.

Gerard Herrera scored both Effingham goals. Brandon Duncan saved 12 shots on goal.

Effingham Coach Weston Peno said, "We played an excellent match and the first half was very evenly matched. Our second half was good, but Charleston came out aggressively and put pressure on us early."
