Altamont/CHBC Blanks Vandalia, 7-0 In Soccer

VANDALIA -- Altamont/Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City ripped out to a 3-0 lead on Vandalia in soccer action Monday and led 4-1 at halftime.

The Indians continued the onslaught, moving to a 5-1 lead before finishing out with a 7-2 victory.

Jack Miller scored the first Altamont goal with an assist by Jordan Miller. Jack Lowry knocked in the second goal followed by Noah Klimpel scoring on an assist by Martin Cook. Vandalia tallied for a 3-1 score before Altamont/CHBC's Tucker Short finished the scoring in the first half.

In the second half, Short scored on a penalty kick. Vandalia tallied to pull within 5-2 before Cook hit net, moving the Indians ahead 6-2 and Isaac Crow finished out with a penalty kick for Altamont/CHBC.

The Indians took 36 shots, 30 on goal. Brennyn Abendroth had two saves while Klitzing had one for Altamont.

Vandalia took eight shots, five on goal.

Altamont/CHBC will celebrate Senior Night against St. Anthony Tuesday.
