Teutopolis Has Rough Couple of Days

MOUNT ZION -- Teutopolis High School has suffered a couple losses against tough teams in the past few days.

The Wooden Shoes faced one of the Class 1A top teams Monday and fell to Waterloo Gibault 5-2. Both T-town's goals came from Kyle Blievernicht with assists from Ryan Westendorf and Drew Kowalski.

T-town then turned around Tuesday and traveled to Mount Zion and fell to the homestanding Braves 7-0. Mount Zion has now won five in a row and sports a 10-2-2 record. Six different players scored goals for Mount Zion.

T-town was playing without defender Sam Sudkamp and center midfielder Jordan Niebrugge. Seeing limited action was Ryan Westendorf and Alex Niebrugge. The Shoes finished out the contest playing junior varsity players.

T-town drops to 9-7 on the season.

The Wooden Shoes had taken a 3-1 victory over Metro East in Saturday play. Blievernicht scored two goals, the second on a direct kick free kick from Niebrugge. Justin Deters scored the final goal from a Blievernicht throw in. Seth Belford had 10 saves.
