Teutopolis Blanks Taylorville

TAYLORVILLE -- Teutopolis High School hit the road to Taylorville in soccer competition Monday and came home with a 4-0 victory.

Ryan Westendorf had a hat trick of three goals, while Justin Deters produced a goal.

"The varsity had a great season opener against Taylorville showing superior ball control and possessing it for most of the game," said T-town Coach Dustin Jansen. "We had 16 shots on goal and held Taylorville off with just one. Our defense showed very little give on the back line."

T-town is back on the road again Friday and Saturday, heading to the Charleston Tournament facing Charleston, Mattoon and Olney.

T-town's junior varsity picked up a victory 4-1.
