Mattoon Edges T-town 2-1 in Soccer

TEUTOPOLIS -- Mattoon High School edged Teutopolis 2-1 in soccer competition Monday.

Scoring for the Green Wave were Ashton Paul with an assist by Cole Kdiwell and Zach Lensink with a free kick at the 24 minute mark.

Mattoon goalkeeper MJ Brand had eight saves. The Green Wave outshot T-town 15-12. Mattoon is now 5-2-1 going into today's Apollo Conference match hosting Effingham.

T-town's goal came from Jordan Wellbaum with an assist from Mitch Meinhart. Goalie Tyler Gebben had 12 saves. The Shoes are now 3-2-3 on the season.

T-town won the junior varsity match 4-0.
