Mount Vernon Blanks Effingham, 2-0

Mount Vernon blanked Effingham 2-0 in high school soccer action Tuesday evening.

The two goals came from Hunter Schrader with 3:55 left in the first half and Bayley Rinehart with 30:36 left in the second half.

Both teams had six shots on goal. Effingham's Frank Kasdorf had four saves. EHS is now 3-4 on the season and will kick off the conference schedule Thursday hosting Charleston.

Mount Vernon also claimed the junior varsity match 6-1. Effingham's goal came from Jared Minor on a 20 plus yard direct free kick. EHS drops to 0-6.
