Mattoon Beats Altamont, CHS Ties T-town in Soccer

MATTOON -- Mattoon High School put the moves on and blanked Altamont 6-0 in soccer action Tuesday.
The Green Wave took a 3-0 first half lead then came back to score three more goals in the second half.
Altamont had seven shots on goal. Childerson had 16 goalkeeper saves. Mattoon had 22 shots on goal and seven saves.
The Indians drop to 1-4 on the season and host Newton Thursday.
In junior varsity play, Mattoon was a 5-0 winner.
At Charleston
Teutopolis and Charleston tied in varsity action, 2-2. The Trojans lost to T-town last week in the Red & Gold Tournament.
Charleston's Reece Bell scored the first goal and Drew Mejdrich's second half goal tied the score.
