Kane Lifts Blackhawks Past Bruins In Shootout

(Chicago, IL) -- Patrick Kane scored the decisive goal of the shootout to send the Blackhawks to a 3-2 win over the Bruins at the United Center. Marian Hossa scored in the first period for Chicago before Brandon Bollig lit the lamp in the second. Corey Crawford turned away 34 shots as the 'Hawks won their third in four games. Brad Marchand had both goals for Boston and added a tally in the shootout. Tuukka Rask stopped 35 shots. The Bruins have lost four out of six.

Lightning Weather Hurricanes

(Raleigh, NC) -- Mark Barberio scored twice and Ben Bishop posted 48 saves to lead the Lightning in a 5-3 win over the Hurricanes from PNC Arena. Ondrej Palat added a goal and two assists while Teddy Purcell and Nikita Kucherov also scored for Tampa Bay. The Bolts had lost three out of four. Eric Staal cut Tampa's lead in half during the second period with a goal after the Lightning had jumped up 4-0. Staal also assisted on Alexander Semin's tally but Carolina lost its third in four games. Justin Peters was pulled after allowing three goals on seven shots, giving way to Anton Khudobin for the rest of the game.

Rangers Roll Past Caps

(New York, NY) -- Rick Nash scored twice in a three-goal first period as the Rangers rolled to a 4-1 win over the Capitals at MSG. Derek Stepan also scored in the first and Ryan Callahan added a shorthanded goal as the Blueshirts won their third straight. They host the Islanders Tuesday.
