Predators Ground Jets

(Winnipeg, Manitoba) -- Carter Hutton posted 38 saves to lead the Predators in a 3-1 win over the Jets at MTS Centre. Eric Nystrom scored shorthanded early in the second while Patric Hornqvist and Matt Cullen added scores in the period.  Nashville has won four out of five to move to 5-3-1. Evander Kane gave Winnipeg its lone goal midway through the third. Ondrej Pavelec stopped 23 shots for the Jets, who have lost two out of three to fall to 4-5.

Ducks Double Up Stars

(Anaheim, CA) -- Corey Perry had two goals and an assist to power the Ducks in a 6-3 win over the Stars at the Honda Center.  Ryan Getzlaf had a goal and three helpers for Anaheim, which has won seven straight since losing its opener. Teemu Selanne, Matheiu Perreault and Emerson Etem also scored for the Ducks while Ferderik Andersen made 24 saves in the cage. Andersen replaced Jonas Hiller in net after he allowed three goals on 12 shots. Jack Campbell allowed all six goals in Dallas' cage on 47 shots. Ryan Garbutt, Brenden Dillon and Shawn Horcoff all lit the lamp for the Stars, who have dropped four out of five to fall to 3-5.

Blue Jackets Stop Canucks

(Vancouver) -- For the second time in as many days the Canucks turned in a strong performance but didn't get the just reward for their efforts. R.J. Umberger's goal just past the midway mark of the third period broke a 1-1 tie and proved to be the eventual game-winner as the Canucks dropped a 3-1 decision at the Nationwide Arena and saw their record on their current seven-game road trip drop to 2-1-1.

Blues Off Until Friday

(St. Louis, MO) -- The St. Louis Blues are off until Friday when they host the Vancouver Canucks. The Blues have lost two-of-three after a 4-3 shootout loss to Winnipeg on Friday. St. Louis is then at Nashville on Saturday.
