Three EHS Wrestlers Advance To Sectional

Effingham High School will be sending three wrestlers to the Class 1A Carterville Sectional after competing in the Lawrenceville Regional Saturday.

Kaiden Stewart, Cole Dulumback and Gage Emmerich advanced. Baker Moon and Jeremiah Lorton are alternates. The Sectional will be held this coming Friday and Saturday.

K. Stewart finished  second at 120 pounds. He won over Edison Armijos of Robinson with a pin in :37, downed Mason Correll of Oblong 20-3 before losing to Mason Swartz of Oakland with a pin in 3:34.

Dulumback finished third at 113 pounds. He lost to Peyton Groves of Cumberland, 16-4 then won over Hunter Fitts of Oblong with a pin in :33 and downed Christian Perez of Paris, 25-16.

Emmerich  finished third at 165 pounds. He over Tucker Waldrop of Lawrenceville with a pin in  1:40, lost to Joshua Lamore of Paris, with a pin in 3:41 then won over Paul-Ray Garrett of Mt Carmel, with a pin in :35, downed Branden Buecherie of Oblong with a pin in 1:27, won over Grant Keyser of Cumberland, with a pin in 1:01 and defeated Aden Cates of Fairfield with a pin in 1:41.
