EHS Wresters Finish Third, Fifth At University High School Invitational

NORMAL -- Effingham High School's wrestling team competed in the University High School Invitational Saturday.

The Hearts had two wrestlers finish in third place while two captured fifth place.

Cole Dulumback took third in the 113 pound category. He lost his opening round match then came back with a win over Benjamin Owen of Richwoods with a pin in 1:26 and a victory over Caiden Capranica of Limestone with a pin in :32.

Jeremiah Lorton finished third at 225 pounds. He won over over Derek Lawson of Springfield Lanphier with a pin in 5:02. He fell in the next match before winning over Adrian Ramirez of Normal with a pin in 3:25 and over Derek Lawson of Springfield Lanphier with an 8-3 decision.

Brendan Stewart finished fifth at 106 pounds. He won over Haley Ritcher of Heyworth with a pin in 1:06, fell in the second match before taking wins over Hunter Harley of Riveron with a pin in 1:25 and Eli Rodriguez of Chicago St. Ignatius with a pin in 2:48. He took his second loss before finishing third with a victory over Aiden Roop of Crete Monee with a pin in :38.

Baker Moon was fifth at 150 pounds. He won over Jacob Fulton of Dunlap with a pin in :50. He fell in the second round. He then took two victories over Camden Gordon of Charleston with a pin in 1:17 and Christopher Harris of Richwoods with a pin in 1:07. He lost a second time before finishing fifth with a victory over Sebastian Cuadros of Chicago St. Ignatius on a medical forfeit.
