EHS, EJHS Athletes Honored At School Board Meeting

Effingham High School and Effingham Junior High School athletes were honored recently at the Effingham Unit #40 School Board meeting.

Receiving recognition were the Effingham High School softball and track teams and the Effingham Junior High School track team.

Effingham High School won a regional championship in Class 3A this season and competed in the sectional. Several members of the squad were named to All-State teams. Members of the team are, first row, left to right, Brianne Carder, Madi Kirk, Saige Althoff, Bria Beals, Raegan Boone and Ina Mapes. Second row, left to right, Layla McBride, Alyssa Martin, Sidney Donaldson, Natalie Armstrong, Mya Harvey, Ryley Engel and Maci Hayes. Third row, left to right, Coach Trigg, Coach Harvey and Coach Engel. Not present were Coach Carpenter, Jerzi Bierman, Kristin Armstrong, Gieah Schlanser and Tessa Raddatz.

Effingham High School track members that went to the Class 2A State Track Meet were, first row, left to right, Audrey Wagoner, Morgan Springer, Jessica Larsen and Baylee Summers. Second row, left to right, Jeni Phillips, Shayna Scott, Sam Spicer, Adam Flack, Alex Gordon and Tommy O'Brien. Not present were Drew Weis, Macy Kirk, Camdyn Burgholzer, Aaron Hill and Jacob Weaver.

Effingham Junior High School track members that went to the Class 4A State Track Meet were, first row, left to right, Seatyn Althoff, Nora Cekander, Emery Spicer, Truett Pals and Braxton Osborne. Second row, left to right, Jared Klingler, Westin Hayes and Kellan Richmond. Third row, left to right, Alex McFarland, Jenner Pals, Keagyn Koenig, Laynee Pankau and Coach Quandt. Fourth row, left to right, Addison Clark, Coach Parker, Coach Kimura and Coach Adams. Not present were Conner Delong, Carson Fox, Noah Jones, Bryden Kade, Carter Kalber, Xzaviour Lane,  Cameron Moon, TJ Raddatz, Charlie Emmerich, Abby Johnson, Olivia Koester, Alaina Miller, Grace Bergbower and Coach Semple.
