Effingham County Lightning Athletes Do Well At Special Olympics State Games

Effingham County Lightning had 18 athletes that earned the right to go to Special Olympics State Games in Bloomington.

"It was an exciting weekend and everyone did a great job and had a wonderful time," said Tina Bean.

Track Events

Beth Braundmeier received a Gold in Running Long Jump

Myles Crooker received a Participation Ribbon in 50m run and a Gold in the Mini Javelin throw.

Kraig Dahnke received a Gold in 100m run and a Silver in Running Long Jump

Logan Freeman received fourth place in the 200m run and fourth place in Shotput

Tom Frichtl received Gold in Running Long Jump and sixth place in Shot put 

Adam Gharst received sixth place in 400m run

Bradon Lee received fourth place in Running Long Jump

Evan Lotz received Gold in 100m run and Gold in Softball Throw

Tyler Ludwig received Gold in Running Long Jump and Silver in the 200m Run

Caleb Scott received Gold in the 200m run

Emily Stead received Silver in the Mini Javelin Throw and fourth place in 200m run

Chase Wendte received Bronze in Running Long Jump and sixth place in Shot put

Macey Williamson received Silver for Mini Javelin Throw and Silver for Shot put

The relay team of Nicholas Stewart, Chase Wendte, Tom Frichtl, and Tyler Ludwig received the Gold

Bocce Ball 

Jessica Ludwig received fourth place 

Jaime Mendenhall received fourth place

Unified Team of Joseph and Christopher Repking received Bronze

Unified Team of Karissa and Greg Bean received Gold
