St. A ESports Team Competed At Sectional, Headed To State

St. Anthony's ESports sectional team includes, left to right, Greer Weiss, Zack Hurren, Sean Silva, Devin Grubb, Connor Frauli, Chase Ferguson, Elijah Poston, Nicholas Poston, James Emmerich, Luke Anderson and Andrew Brandenburger. 

SALEM -- Effingham St. Anthony High School Esports Team competed in the Illinois High School Association Sectional at Salem Saturday and qualified team members for State.

In the Rocket League, James Emmerich, Elijah Poston and Conner Fraulit were sectional champions and are state qualifiers.

EASports FC Luke Anderson (third place) and Andrew Brandenburger (sectional champion) is a state qualifier.

Others competing were MarioKart that included Greer Weiss, Zack Hurren, Nicholas Poston and Chase Ferguson went 0-2.

Smash Bros Solo, Sean Silver went 2-2 and Devin Grubb went 1-2.

The IHSA State Finals will be held Saturday, April 27 at Evergreen Park.
