EHS Wrestlers Do Well At Urbana Invitational

The Hearts had three second place finishes, a third and two fifth place finishes in the meet.

Kaiden Stewart competed in the 126 pound division and took second place. He won over Wade Williamson of Heyworth with a pin in :59, won over Kendrick Pittman of Danville with a pin in :48 before falling to Nolan Lowe of Normal U-High on a pin in 2:57.

Gage Emmerich took second at 157 pounds. He defeated Alexander Englen of Charleston with a pin in 1:39. He then fell to Tristan Poplous of Danville on a pin in 2:45.

Jeremiah Lorton took second at 215 pounds. He won over Tyjuan Reed of Danville in a 7-5 decision then downed Jared Lauweren of Rochester with a pin in 3:55. He fell to Drake Champlin of East Alton/Wood River on a pin in 2:32.

Baker Moon finished third in the 138 pound division. He won over Walker Quimlay of Rochester with a pin in 2:51. He lost to Malachi Hutchinson of Urbana in a 17-1 decision. He then took back-to-back wins to take second. He defeated Landon Johnson of East Alton/Wood River in a 17-0 decision and won over Walker Quimby of Rochester with a pin in 1:58.

Clinton Metcalf finished fifth at 175 pounds. He lost his openers against Jaylen Crowder of Springfield Lanphier with a pin in :44 and Michael Soto of East Atlon/Wood River with a pin in 1:30. He won over Jaylen Goines of Urbana with a pin in 2:42.

Trenton Patterson also finished fifth. He won over Yeshua O'Brien of Charleston with a pin in 5:25. He then lost to Landon Hinkle of Normal U High with a pin in 3:07 and to Stormy Hughes of Charleston with a pin in 2:32. He finished out with a win again over Yeshua O'Brien of Charleston, 12-2.

120 pounds -- Mason Bushue, lost to Joshua Butler of H High, pin 1:13; lost to Jack Rutledge of Heyworth, pin 3:59

150 pounds -- Trent Reardon, lost to James Escobar of Rochester, pin 1:12; lost to Jonnah Fonner (Urbana), pin 2:56
