Parks, Coleman To Compete In World Series Team Roping Finals

Both residents of Effingham County, Parks competed in high school rodeo, qualifying for State and National finals his senior year of 2006. He then attended college in Pratt, Kansas from 2006 to 2008 on a rodeo scholarship.
Coleman also comepted in high school rodeo where he was a State champion team roper in 2002 and State champion saddle bronc rider in 2003. After graduating high schoo,l he was on the college rodeo team in Odessa, Texas from 2003-07.
After graduating from college and taking several years off, the pair decided to team back up and compete in the World Series of team roping where they have succeeded in quailfying for the Finals in Las Vegas.
"We would like to thank our dads, Dale Parks and Richard Gerth, for spending countless hours with us in the arena, for making sure we always had good horses to ride and a way to get down the road to rodeos," said the pair.
"And, most importantly a big thanks to our wives, Megan and Nikki, for the amount of support, encouragement and handling all the important staff at home while we follow our dreams."
