$55,000 to Each School from 2023 Sports Spectacular

The 30th annual Carl P. Koerner, Jr. Memorial Sports Spectacular produced the largest amount of money ever generated by the event.

This year's event at Effingham Country Club generated $55,000 each for the St. Anthony Booster Club and the Effingham Sportsbackers. The two groups work with St. Anthony and Unit 40 schools to underwrite many of the expenses of the two schools' sports programs.

The total raised through the years is now knocking on the door of $1.5 million.

The golf outing was begun by Carl Koerner and EHS Principal Russ Marvel and has been continued through the years by the Koerner family and the two booster groups.
