EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE Director of Athletics Andrew Gavin has announced the appointment of Jake Sutter as the Associate Athletic Director for Sales and Partnerships. Sutter began his tenure with the Cougars on Monday, August 7.
Sutter joins the SIUE Athletics family after working for the past three years at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, most recently serving as the Assistant AD for Advancement and Partnerships. He also had served in a part-time role starting in late 2020.
"My wife Brooke and I are very excited to become a part of the Cougar family," said Sutter. "I am very thankful to Andrew Gavin and the search committee for this opportunity to continue my growth in college athletics. I look forward to meeting and introducing the community to the new era of Cougar Athletics and bringing in valuable resources to enhance the experience for the student-athletes here at SIUE."
In his role with the Cougars, Sutter will serve as a member of the athletics leadership team. Sutter will take the lead on building and maintaining relationships with Cougar season ticket holders, searching for new partnerships that will positively impact Cougar athletics, and overseeing all merchandising and apparel initiatives for the department.
"I have seen firsthand how Jake builds genuine and mutually-beneficial relationships internally and externally that foster progress and success for an athletics department and community," Gavin said. "Our staff, season ticket holders, and partners will love getting to know Jake and working with him. I'm thrilled to add him to our team as we embark on this next era of SIUE Athletics, and I look forward to watching Jake thrive in this role."
At UW-Parkside, Sutter was the athletics liaison for the Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations. His efforts were geared toward improving and highlighting the department's fundraising, alumni relations and corporate partnerships. He played a key role in the growth of the RangerVision 2020 campaign, the game day experience for groups and season ticket holders, the Ranger Impact Fund and the Parkside Corporate Partners Program.
A 2017 graduate of Carthage, Sutter served as a graduate assistant in athletic administration at Carthage. After completing his master's degree at Carthage, he worked as the Marketing and Championships Assistant for the Mid-American Conference in Cleveland, Ohio.
