Michael Phelps' last individual world record has fallen.

Leon Marchand set the world record in the men’s 400-meter individual medley Sunday at the world championships in Fukuoka, Japan.

The French swimmer took home the gold with a time of 4 minutes, 2.50 seconds, beating Phelps’ previous world record mark of 4:03.84.
