2023 Bass Fishing Sectional Results

Bass fishing teams from the area held their sectional competition over the weekend.
Teutopolis #2 advanced to the state tournament with a second place finish in the sectional at Newton Lake. Teutopolis #2 caught a total of 20 pounds of fish, second only to Carlyle #1, a team that caught 22 pounds, 25 ounces of fish.
Derrick Gaddis is the coach of Teutopolis #2, Lance Dasenbrock is the driver, and team members are Ethan Thoele, Devin Deters and Devin Bloemer.
Newton #1 finished fourth at Newton Lake with 16 pounds, 42 ounces caught, and will be the alternate if one of the Top 3 teams can't compete.
Chris Bradley is the coach and driver for Newton #1. Team members are Gunner James, Kyson Bradley, Landon Kirts and Evan Johnson.
Also advancing to State is Windsor/Stew-Stras, registered as Windsor #1. They competed at Lake Shelbyville and finished third with 10 pounds, three ounces caught.
Patrick O'Dell is the Windsor #1 driver. Team members are Hayden Porter, Myles Verdeyen, Oliver Wascher and Heath Westendorf.
As far as the other squads from the area, here's how they fared:
At Newton Lake--South Central 9th, Newton #2 and South Central #2 tied for 10th, and Teutopolis #1 12th
At Lake Shelbyville--Neoga #1 9th
At Coffeen Lake--Brownstown #2 13th
