Effingham Wins JV 12-Team Scholar Bowl Tournament

Effingham High School won a junior varsity 12-team Scholar Bowl Tournament.

Effingham A defeated Champaign Central, Johnston City, Pleasant Plains, Mattoon A, St. Joseph-Ogden B, Cumberland, Charleston and Champaign Centennial.

Team members were Gabe Koester, Tyler Jenson, Peter Rosen, Derek Doedtman and Morgan Cekander.

Effiingham B defeated Mattoon B, St. Joseph-Ogden A and Charleston and lost to Champaign Centennial, Cumberland, Mattoon A and Johnston City.

Team members were Sydney Nelson, Zac Hartke, Lincoln Ervin and Max Greenwood

The junior varsityi and varsity Effingham teams will be back in action Saturday at the Apollo Conference Tournament at Mount Zion. The junior varsity squad has not lost a regular match this season.
