The Golden Knights’ veteran forward Phil Kessel played his 990th consecutive game this week, breaking a tie with Keith Yandle for the longest streak in NHL history.

Incidentally, he scored the 400th goal of his career during the game against the San Jose Sharks. The crowd gave a standing ovation to Kessel, who was 19 when he made his debut with the Boston Bruins in 2006.
