In the opening race of the day, the Filly & Mare Pace, Finn took the first win of the day behind I'm Over The Enjen.
I'm Over The Enjen took the early lead with Kandi's Fortune sitting in second. I'm Over The Enjen led by a length and a half at the half and by two at the three quarter mile marker. Finn guided Over The Enjen to the victory by four lengths in 2:01.
Finn then finished out the day with a drive behind Loyz Say When in the fifth race, the Maiden Trot AE: ICF Nonwinners 2.
Loyz Say When sailed to the lead ahead of the other two horses in the field and held a 20 length lead. Loyz Say When had an easy time, winning in 2:10 3/5. The battle was for second place with Hawkeye Dewey taking that spot over Pootemondachooch.
Owning Loyz Say When is Jackson Loy of Beecher City.
Finn picked up 10 more points with the two wins and leads the field of driver's going into the final day of races Friday with 37 points. Second place is Wyatt Avenatti 24 followed by Archie Buford 21, Jordan Patton 20, Marcus Turner 17 and Michael Rogers 16.
In the second race, Smoknonpazzazz took the early lead after both Frontier Cheryl and Master Approach broke stride in the Non-winners $1,000 Lifetime Trot. Smoknonpazazz easily went out to a 12 length lead and never looked back in the second race, winning by 16 lengths in 2:11 3/5.
Darius Dortch was in the bike for his first victory at the Effingham County Fair as a professional after winning the amateur race at the fair last year.
Smoknonpazazz raced yesterday and broke stride. The two-year-old colt came back for his first victory in six starts.
Golden Girl Z Tam came back from Monday's races to pick up a victory in the Non-winners $1,000 Lifetime Pace AE: 2-Year-Old Nonwinners, Division I.
After finishing second Monday in 2:12, Golden Girl Z Tam got out to the early lead with driver Albert Plair. Dandy's Surprise challenged Golden Girl Z Tam throughout the race but could never take the lead.
The pair were on even terms at the final turn but Golden Girl Z Tam drew clear to win by six lengths in 2:12, the same time as Monday's second place finish.
Rolypoly Jolie led wire to wire but had to fight off a challenge in the last few feet to pull out the victory in the Non-winners $1,000 Lifetime Pace, Division II.
Rolypoly Jolie, Indiana bred, finished in 2:09 for driver Freddie Patton Jr. She fought off a challenge by Debbie's Roman on the homestretch to win by a head.
The final race of the card was the Amateur Driving Pace. Three horses contested for the prize.
Barry Bell took Prettyrfaceuglyways out to the lead and went wire-to-wire to win in 2:05 4/5. Bell is an auctioneer from Windsor and had nine career wins coming into the race but had never won the Effingham County Fair Amateur Race.
