The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Colorado Avalanche 6-2 Monday night to cut Colorado’s Stanley Cup Final lead to 2-1.

The Lightning chased Avalanche goalie Darcy Kuemper with 8:45 remaining in the second period after they went up 5-2, and he was replaced by Pavel Francouz.

Tampa Bay, which got the win at home after dropping the first two games on the road, is trying to become the first NHL team to three-peat as champs in nearly 40 years. Game 4 is Wednesday in Tampa.
