MARTINSVILLE -- A pair of local horses scored big wins Monday evening at the Martinsville Agricultural Fair.

Loyz Singgene Sing, owned by Jackson Loy of Beecher City, won the filly division of the Great Midwest Trot in 2:08.3, leading from start to finish with trainer Mike Rogers in the sulky. The three-year-old has won twice in five starts this season, after going unraced as a juvenile.

In the colt/gelding division, Hot To Trot Sparky cruised to a seven-length victory in 2:08 for owners Charles Doehring of Brownstown and Cary Doehring of Springfield. Trainer Stephan Halford II was in the race bike.

Local and area stables head next to the Summer Preview on Wednesday at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, where post-time is set for 11 a.m.
