Owner Of Ottawa Senators Dies At Age 62

The owner of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators, Eugene Melnyk, died from an undisclosed illness, the team announced Monday night. He was 62.

The Toronto native had owned the Senators since 2003. Team captain Brady Tkachuk tweeted: “Mr. Melnyk provided me, my teammates, and many Sens players who came before us with an opportunity to live out our dream. The Ottawa community will miss you greatly.”
