Islanders, Lightning Advance In NHL

The New York Islanders and Tampa Bay Lightning are advancing to the second round of the NHL playoffs after winning their first-round series Wednesday

The Islanders defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-3 to win 4 games to 2, and will face the Boston Bruins in the second round.

The Lightning blanked the Florida Panthers 4-0 to win 4 games to 2. They’ll face the winner of the Carolina-Nashville first-round series.
