Girls Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball All-Apollo Conference Teams Named

The All-Apollo Conference girls basketball teams were named with Teutopolis and Effingham players earning spots.

Charleston won the team title with a 14-0 record followed by Teutopolis 10-4, Mattoon 8-6, Mahomet-Seymour 7-7, Lincoln 6-7, Effingham 6-8, Mount Zon 2-11 and Taylorville 2-12.

Name to the First Team were T-town's Lexie Niebrugge, a senor, Shae Littleford (Charleston), Kloe Froebe (Lincoln), Mallory Ramage (Mattoon) and Denver Anderson (Mount Zion).

Named to the Second Team were Effingham's Annie Frost, a sophomore, Savannah Oregon (Mahomet-Seymour), Alycia Triplet (Charleston), Haylee Sagle (Taylorville) and Delainey Bryant (Mattoon).

 

Soccer

Effingham had two players reach First and Second Team status on the All-Apollo Conference soccer teams while Teutopolis had one.

Osvaldo Angel, a sophomore, was named to the First Team along with Blake Garrett (Charleston), AJ Beard (Lincoln), Garrett Slack (Lincoln), Nate Lundstrom (Mahomet-Seymour), Eli Warren (Mahomet-Seymour), Logan Woodward (Mahomet-Seymour), Gavin Gonzalez (Mattoon), Derek Austin (Mount Zion), Brock Kennell (Mount Zion) and Jonathan Oliger (Mount Zion).

Named to the Second Team were Effingham senior Bryan Angel and Teutopolis senior Derek Deters. Other members included Eugene Ohba (Charleston), Ashton Bottles (Lincoln), Jaden Klopp (Lincoln), Keagon Ashby (Mahomet-Seymour), Koby Eisenmenger (Mahomet-Seymour), Drew Coffey (Mattoon), Trent Hettinger (Mattoon), Jacob Bailey (Mount Zion) and Logan Shumaker (Mount Zion).

Mahomet-Seymour finished first in the standings with an 11-1-2 record followed by Mount Zion 10-2-2, Lincoln 10-2-2, Mattoon 9-5, Effingham 4-9-1, Charleston 3-7-4, Teutopolis 3-10-1 and Taylorville 0-14.

 

Volleyball

Effingham and Teutopolis both placed volleyball players on the All-Apollo Conference Second Team.

Named were Effingham's Jacy Boatman, a senior, and Teutopolis' Carly Michels, also a senior. Other members of the Second Team were Hannah Buescher (Charleston), Elise Dawon (Lincon), Caylee Folken (Mahomet-Seymour), Alex Smith (Mount Zion) and Abby Heberling (Taylorville).

Earning First Team honors were Summer Brandis (Taylorville), Josie Hess (Mahomet-Seymour), Ainsley Ranstead (Mahomet-Seymour), Katarina Blase (Charleston), Emily Cole (Mount Zion), Hannah Clayton (Taylorville) and Makenzie Pamperin (Charleston).
