Jones Wins at Disc Golf Tourney in Princeton; Other Local Results

Effingham disc golfer Mark Jones captured top honors at the Princeton Country Club Classic, held in Princeton, Indiana Saturday.

Jones shot a -17 101 to win the Advanced Division by five shots. He posted a 49 in the first round, with 11 birdies against just one bogey. Jones shot a 52 in the second round with 10 more birdies against three bogeys. Jones' first round carried a 1015 rating.

Effingham's Joseph Garland finished third in the Advanced Division, with a -2 57 in the first round, then a -6 53 in the second round to finish -8 110. 

In the Recreational Division, Effingham's Andrew "Butter" Miller finished in a tie for sixth at +9 125 with rounds of 62-63. 

In the Novice Division, Bradley Livingston of Teutopolis placed 12th, going 76-88=164 for a +48. 

Jones played in the Krush at Konarcik in Waterloo on Sunday, tying for 12th at +3. Jones had rounds of 57-62=119. 

Miller and Effingham's Paul Stice journeyed to Bowling Green, Indiana Sunday to compete in the Mitten Road Meltdown. Miller and Stice both competed in the Recreational Division. Stice finished 11th at +12, going 70-56=126. Miller finished 12th with a 73-63=136 for a +22 total.
