Minnesota’s baseball, basketball and hockey teams, the Twins, Timberwolves and Wild, respectively, all postponed their games on Monday, one day after a 20-year-old Black man, Daunte Wright was shot and killed by police in the town of Brooklyn Center during a traffic stop.

In addition, New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks, who is Black and played his first three Major League Baseball seasons for the Twins, asked to be removed from the lineup against the Toronto Blue Jays because of the incident.
