Ovechkin Moves Into Sixth Place In Career Goals

Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin moved into sixth place on the career goals list with his 718th Tuesday night to pass Phil Esposito.

The goal came in the Capitals’ 3-1 win over the New York Islanders. Ovechkin is now 13 goals away from tying Marcel Dionne in fifth place.
