The U.S. women’s national soccer team wants the U.S. Soccer Federation to repeal its requirement that players stand during the national anthem that it put in place after star player Megan Rapinoe began kneeling during the anthem in 2016 in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick. The reigning World Cup champions also want the USSF to publicly say the policy was wrong and apologize to the team’s black players and supporters.
