Seven current and former black NHL players formed the Hockey Diversity Alliance Monday, saying, “Our mission is to eradicate racism and intolerance in hockey.” The group is being headed by ex-player Akim Aliu and the San Jose Sharks’ Evander Kane. It will be independent of the NHL, but hopes to work with it to promote diversity and inclusion.
