Jon Perry Takes Fourth at Murdale Wrestling Tourney

CARBONDALE -- Effingham High School's Jon Perry captured fourth place in the 145 pound division of the Murdale Wrestling Tournament during the weekend.

Perry won his opening match over Glenwood's Frey with a pin in 5:20. He then downed Trico's Bramlett with a pin in 3:03. His third victory came with a pin in :51 over Golliher of Benton. Perry lost his final two matches with an 8-3 decision and a pin in 3:42 to finish fourth.

Marcus Hites was the other EHS wrestler who took a place. Hites captured eighth place at 285 pounds. He claimed his first three victories with pins in 1:48, :46 and :43 but lost his final three matches.
