Charlotte, North Carolina, was awarded a Major League Soccer expansion team on Tuesday, with the team to begin play in 2021.

A team name is yet to be chosen. David Tepper, who owns the NFL’s Carolina Panthers, worked to get Charlotte an MLS franchise, and the team will play its games at the Panthers' home, Bank of America Stadium. He said he'll look to hire a general manager and coach within weeks.
