Freddie Patton Jr., Wyatt Avenatti Nab Three Wins

ALTAMONT -- Freddie Patton Jr. and Wyatt  Avenatti both garnered three victories as harness racing got underway at the Effingham County Fair Sunday.

Patton had back-to-back winners in the opening two races on the card. He guided Lou Scion Lou to victory in the Big 10 3-Year-Old Filly Trot. the pair went the distance in 2:10.

Patton then had a win behind Frontier Manard in the Big 10 3-year-Old Colt Trot. The winner crossed the line in 2:06 3/5.

The other victory for Patton came in the fourth race, the Big 10 3-Year-Old Colt Pace. Patton and Frontier Muffler went the distance in 2:00 4/5.

Avenatti broke through in the Fillies & Mares Pace, Division I. He took Rockn' With T to victory in 2:01 4/5. Avenatti picked up his second win in the Open Pace AE: Nonwinners $2,500 in '19. Mickey Hanover went the distance in 2:02 1/5 for the victory.

Avenatti then took the final race of the day, the Open Maiden Trot AE: ICF Nonwinners 2. He was seated behind Evita's Doll and the pair won in 2:10 2/5.

Other victories included Darla Martin guiding Black Rushin to the win in the Big 10 3--Year-Old Filly Pace in 2:05 3/5.

Marcus Turner was behind Primed N Powerful in the Illinois Harness Horsemen Association Trot, 3-Year-Old & Up ICF. The duo raced the distance in 2:01 4/5.

Matthew Avenutti then had his turn in victory lane behind Seawind Kerry in the Fillies & Mares Pace, Division 2. Seawind Kerry won with a time of 2:02.

The Open Maiden Pace AE: ICF Nonwinners 2 went to Frontier Lola. Richard S. Finn guided Frontier Lola to victory in 2:03 1/5.

The races were heard on XFM 979 Sunday but will be heard through Friday on KJ Country 102.3. Today's races have been postponed to Tuesday with Monday and Tuesday cards racing starting at noon.
